Our School Focus
Kew Beach School ensures effective curriculum delivery in all subject areas. We focus on strengthening reading, writing and math skills through the use of effective questioning techniques that encourage higher level thinking. We use information technology to enhance teaching, learning and communication skills. Focusing on Character Development, we encourage students to set high standards for behaviour and to make decisions that are empowering so that they have the knowledge, skills and values they need to become responsible citizens. We strive to ensure that strategies are in place so that all students are successful.
Our Unique Location
Kew Beach Public School is located in The Beach area of Toronto with 491 students from JK to Grade 6 . The current school was built in 1963. The history of the school dates back to 1889, making it one of Toronto's oldest schools. The school community is fortunate to have access to the boardwalk, soccer fields, parks, skating rink and library, all within walking distance. Teachers make good use of these added resources with their students.

Parent and Community Engagement
Our active and dedicated School Council meets regularly to encourage community involvement and implement effective fundraising programs to support school initiatives. Regular parent volunteers assist in classroom and school-wide activities such as: working with students in classes, helping in the library, helping with extra curricular activities, preparing and organizing book orders, running borrow-a-book programs and helping to supervise on field trips. They engage the students in activities such as our annual fun fair, skating party, pizza lunches and book fairs. Parents run a weekly Kew Cafe in the front lobby to raise money for enrichment activities.
