About John Buchan Senior Public School

John Buchan Senior Public School opened in 1969 and was named after the thirty-fifth Governor-General of Canada who served from 1935 - 1940. Our goal is to create a community of adolescent grade 7 and 8 learners whose intellectual, physical, emotional, and social development is enhanced in a caring, safe and positive environment. Our students learn and practise social responsibility through a focus on Character Education embedded in our academic and co-curricular programs. We enjoy a diverse population of approximately 240 students drawn from six feeder schools. John Buchan is part of a campus community that includes Pauline Johnson Junior P.S. and Stephen Leacock Collegiate. It is located in the same building as Stephen Leacock.

John Buchan Senior Public School is located in Tam O'Shanter - Sullivan

The neighbourhood, which includes the Tam O'Shanter (east of Warden) and Sullivan (west of Warden) communities, takes its name from Tam O'Shanter golf course and O'Sullivan's Corners. It is located just north of Highway 401 and contains a mix of high rise apartments and detached homes.
