About Roywood Public School

Roywood Public School is a vibrant learning community in the York Mills/Victoria Park area. The school first opened in 1963 and an addition was built in 1971. At Roywood Public School, we believe that students and staff are entitled to a safe, caring, and stimulating learning environment, where respect for self, others, and the environment are as important as academic learning. An important aim of the school, therefore, is to help students develop self-discipline so that they can become productive, mature, and responsible members of society.

Roywood Public School is located in Parkwoods-Donalda

Parkwoods-Donalda is a large neighbourhood located just south of Ontario Highway 401. One of the dominant characteristics of the neighbourhood is its winding streets and undulating topography. The northern part of the neighbourhood is populated by mostly new immigrants to the city. The area south of York Mills Road is a fairly affluent neighbourhood, with a large number of original homeowners or their heirs (1957 to 1962 purchasers) still occupants. The northwest corner of the area is known as York Heights.
