"Growth, Knowledge and Dignity"
Bennington Heights Elementary School is located immediately south of Bayview and Moore Avenues. The school has been serving the Bennington Heights Community since September 1950, providing educational excellence in a small school environment. The Bennington Heights Child Care Centre located within the building provides nursery, pre-school and school-age programs, full and part-time.
Bennington is unique due to its incredible parental support. It holds a bi-annual fundraiser which raises funds for school initiatives. Margaret Atwood's novel "Cat's Eye" is based on her childhood growing up in the Bennington Community where she went to school. The first resident of The Bennington Heights Community was Mr. Thomas Weatherhead, a lawyer for the former East York School Board who had Rosemount Avenue renamed Bennington which was his wife's maiden name.

Parent and Community Engagement
At Bennington Heights we have two parent groups:
• The Home and School Association
• The School Council
This ensures parent engagement and input into the School Improvement Process and fundraising efforts. With generous parent fundraising, our schools' current focus is integrating technology throughout the curriculum. New hardware and interactive software will engage students and help them develop the technological skills they will utilize in the years ahead.
