About Iroquois Junior Public School

Iroquois Junior Public School is a Kindergarten to Grade 6 school located in the Iroquois Community near Finch Avenue and Huntingwood Drive. Iroquois opened to the community in 1970. The school population is approximately 260 students and is diverse with a very large percentage of our students speaking languages other than English at home. Our school is committed to helping every child reach their full potential and highest level of achievement. We provide a learning environment that encourages and supports the development of academic skills, knowledge and achievement, the continual growth of self-esteem and responsibility, and the demonstration of respect and cooperation.

Iroquois Junior Public School is located in Agincourt North

Agincourt North is located in Agincourt which is a neighbourhood and former village, once referred to as "hero town" by the citizens that lived there. The village of Agincourt was officially founded with the establishment of the Agincourt post office, opened in June 1858 by John Hill. The settlement was named after the site of Henry V's decisive English victory over French forces in 1415. Agincourt has one of the largest Asian communities in Toronto, visible in the signage of the many shopping malls that proliferate in the neighbourhood. The East Indian and Indo Pakistani community are also well established in Agincourt.
