MISSION STATEMENT
We at St. Benedict, in partnership with the parents and parish community, believe that each individual is a unique gift from God. Together we foster our student's spiritual, intellectual, emotional, social and physical development in a secure, warm and welcoming environment. Working as a team, we can be successful in developing the maximum potential of each child, so he/she will acquire the values, beliefs and knowledge to become successful contributors in our society.
CATHOLIC FOCUS
Faith formation is a process of journeying into a deeper relationship with Jesus. Through prayer and reflection we come to know Jesus more profoundly and we are shaped as Christians. We will continue to live out our call to be a Eucharistic community by promoting and empowering youth to embrace a catholic worldview through community, catholic prayer and sacramental life. We will continue to encourage and offer students varied opportunities to become involved in social justice initiatives and care for the environment. Staff celebrate the uniqueness of each child, and foster a sense of dignity and self-worth. We are very much committed to supporting each child in our school as they work towards attaining the Ontario Catholic School Graduate Expectations and become integral, contributing members of society.
School History
St. Benedict Catholic School was built in the year 1999. It is one of 3 Catholic Schools in the town of Orangeville, ON.
In 2009, an addition was built to accommodate the growth in school population. Recently, we are thrilled to have had our Kindergarten yard updated to include a sand area, wood sculpture and garden.
We currently have a student population of approximately 465 students, and we pull from a very large geographic area - Orangeville, Grand Valley to the west, Mono to the East and Shelburne, Mulmur and Melancthon to the north. We have families that live in rural areas as well as in town.
