Sir Wilfrid Laurier Public School opened in 1967 as a small, local school in the Peel Village area of Brampton. As Brampton has grown, so has the school, with two additions made to accommodate the needs of the community. The school’s mission, “Strength, Leadership, Wisdom,” is intended to look at the whole child. Academics, physical and emotional health, building and demonstrating character is recognized, promoted and supported by staff and the community at large. We are committed to helping children reach their potential both in class and through a variety of extracurricular activities.
The Brampton East neighbourhood is east as it relates to Downtown Brampton, which is bordered by Brampton North, East, South, and West. This well-established, mature area includes Eldomar Heights and Peel Village subdivisions, which were developed in the late 1950s and the 1960s. The neighbourhood is a mix of residential, industrial and commercial areas. Housing is a mix of single detached homes, semi-detached homes, townhomes, low-rise and high-rise apartments. The Etobicoke Creek, parklands, and a trail form part of this neighbourhood's western boundary.
