Mary Hopkins is a safe and inviting learning environment that promotes responsibility, respect and positive risk taking in pursuit of academic excellence. As a learning community, we will maximize the potential of every child. The school houses students in FDK to grade 5, and students move on to Flamborough Centre school for grades 6 through 8. Finally, students join others from neighbouring schools to attend Waterdown High School for grades 9-12. Mary Hopkins is situated in the center of lovely historic Waterdown and is one of the original schoolhouses for the area.
Waterdown is a growing community that has been a part of Hamilton since 2001. Waterdown, and its associated Great Falls waterfalls, are located on the local portion of the Bruce Trail System in Ontario. Many national and regionally rare flora species grow in the natural areas of Waterdown. Waterdown also has many wetland trails in the eastern end of town. The community is mostly residential.
