The Brampton West neighbourhood is west as it relates to Downtown Brampton, which is bordered by Brampton North, East, South, and West. The southerly part of this neighbourhood is older, with mature trees, and with homes developed generally around the 1960s, and in varied styles. In the northern part, homes are generally from around the 1980s, larger, and on narrower lots. Housing is a mix of single detached homes, semi-detached homes, townhomes, and low-rise and high-rise apartments. The neighbourhood is a mix of residential and commercial areas. A railway line runs north–south through roughly the centre of the neighbourhood. Brampton West features a number of sports fields, parklands, trails, and a recreation centre.
