Ballantrae is a hamlet in the Town of Whitchurch–Stouffville. Named after the village of Ballintra in County Donegal, Ireland, the community is centred on the intersection of Aurora Road (York Regional Road 15) and Highway 48. The hamlet was first settled in the early nineteenth century.

Stouffville is the primary urban area within the town of Whitchurch–Stouffville. It is centred at the intersection of Main Street, Mill Street and Market Street. Founded in 1804 by Abraham Stouffer, the hamlet was originally named Stoufferville. In 1877, Stouffville became an incorporated village and on January 1 1971, the Village of Stouffville amalgamated with Whitchurch Township. The community is located on the Oak Ridges Moraine and the Rouge River watershed.
